Road run and display for classic vehicles and motorbikes in support of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the Dorset County Hospital Cancer Appeal

Our 2018 event is well into the planning stages and this year we are supporting, as always, the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and, as our second charity, the Dorset County Hospital Cancer Appeal. The DCH appeal is raising funds towards a target of £1.75 million pounds to be used to provide radiotherapy services at Dorchester. The new Radiotherapy unit and Cancer Outpatients department will serve people across the North, South and Western parts of the county and will save them having to travel to Poole for treatment.

We're pleased to say that Chris Lawson and Laura have very kindly agreed to bring their Marshall steam engine and 'living van' along for the day again and they will hopefully be bringing a couple of vintage tractors as well!

We've also had confirmation from Allan Gates at Mere Down Falconry that he will there again this year with his Birds of Prey and we are hoping that the Dorset branch of the Vintage Motorcycle Club will be dropping in for a few hours during the day as well. This year the music will be provided by the 'Tamar Band' a multi-instrumental duo from Devon playing folk and roots music.

Planning for the Road Run route for this year is well under way with a trial run already under our belt. We already have bookings for both the road run and for the display only vehicles and this year we are aiming to have a few more tractors on display plus more stationary engines etc. in our 'Nostalgia' corner (if you have something of interest that you would like to display, please get in touch).

If you have any comments, good or bad, or any suggestions that you would like us to consider, please get in touch with us via the 'Contact' page. You can also use the 'Contact' page if you have any questions about Classics Around Dorset or if you are involved with organising a similar type of event and would like it listed in the 'Events Diary' on our website. We will be updating the website over the coming weeks and months, as information becomes available, so, please come back now and again to see what's going on.

Remember, Classics Around Dorset 2018 is on Sunday 27th May, so ............... Put it in your diaries and get those booking forms in!
