Road run and display for classic vehicles and motorbikes in support of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the Dorset County Hospital Cancer Appeal

Our 2018 event is nearly upon us and, at the moment, we're only in a state of mild panic (full blown panic to follow shortly)! This year we are supporting, as always, the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and, the Dorset County Hospital Cancer Appeal. The DCH appeal is raising funds towards a target of £1.75 million pounds which will be used to provide radiotherapy services at Dorchester. The new Radiotherapy unit and Cancer Outpatients department will serve people across the North, South and Western parts of the county and will save them having to travel to Poole or elsewhere for treatment.

We're looking forward to seeing Chris and Laura again with their impressive Marshall steam engine and 'living van' and, hopefully, a couple of vintage tractors as well!

Allan Gates from Mere Down Falconry will be displaying and flying his Birds of Prey again during the day and we are hoping that the Dorset branch of the Vintage Motorcycle Club will be dropping in for a couple hours during the afternoon. Music wise this year we're looking forward to welcoming the 'Tamar Band' a multi-instrumental duo from Devon who will be playing folk and roots music.

Planning for the Road Run is complete and we've driven the route several times, both in the car and via the wonders of 'Google Earth'! We have tried to choose the route to include a variety of roads with some superb views and we hope that you'll enjoy it.

We are aiming to have a few more tractors on display plus more stationary engines etc. in our 'Bygones' corner (if you have something of interest that you would like to display, please get in touch).

If you have any comments, good or bad, or any suggestions that you would like us to consider, please get in touch with us via the 'Contact' page. You can also use the 'Contact' page if you have any questions about Classics Around Dorset or if you are involved with organising a similar type of event and would like it listed in the 'Events Diary' on our website.

Just to remind you that your bookings must be in by no later than 9.00PM on Sunday 20th to be included in the progamme and to be guaranteed a 'goody bag' etc. We will still accept booking during the run up to the day and on the day itself, however, you may not get one of our world famous goody bags!
