Road run and display for classic vehicles and motorbikes in support of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the Dorset County Hospital Cancer Appeal

Apologies to everyone for the delay in up-dating the web site this year. Unfortunately work has been, and continues to be, seriously interfering with my social life!!

Despite a very wet and miserable start to the day the weather improved and we were fortunate enough to have a lovely day! This year marked the opening of the facilities on Alec's Field, which proved to be really good and contributed greatly to the day. Unfortunately
our 'live duo' was unable to attend but our thanks to James the 'Coffee Man' who stepped in at the last minute to provide us with music!

Thanks to Chris and Laura, who also had a few problems but still manged to turn up with their magnificent Marshall Engine and Living Van, plus a couple of tractors!

This year our proceeds are being shared by the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and, the Dorset County Hospital Cancer Appeal with a small donation to the Sturminster Newton Scouts. The accounts haven't been finalised yet, and we still have a little bit of money to come in, but it looks as though we should be able to donate somewhere in the region of £1,500 - 00 to both of our chosen charities this year. We will let you know as soon as the figures are confirmed.

We hope everyone enjoyed the Road Run, feed back seemed to be good, and our 'out of this world' games seemed to go down well too! It was good to see a few more tractors, stationery engines etc this year and maybe we'll have even more next year!

I have now uploaded the photographs taken by the camera club members so take a look and remind youself of the day. You will see that they are not in chronological order, rather in the order in which they were provided to me! Our thanks to the photographers for all their hard work and especially to Jeffery for sorting and re-sizing all the photograhs to make my life easier!
